The Wilderness is definitely the coolest Outback, but its unique capability has its downsides (on-road handling, fuel economy), so don’t write off the regular versions as your go-to, SUV-besting wagon. Owners were already lifting their Outbacks even further off the ground and fitting all-terrain tires, so Subaru basically figured it would offer a version like that from the factory, complete with unique styling that remains intact for 2023 even though the rest of the Outback line gets a facelift. Last year, Subaru double-downed on the Outback’s outdoorsy popularity by introducing the even more rugged Outback Wilderness. Seeing one without some sort of accessory rack on top is rare, while the bumper or windows will inevitably be festooned in stickers for national parks or outdoor brands. There’s a reason it’s so darn popular in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, Colorado and Alaska. In other words, the Outback is a great choice for those who actually intend to take their outdoor adventure vehicle on adventures outdoors. It actually outdoes the space, versatility and ground clearance of most similarly priced crossover SUVs, while boasting a notable wagon-specific advantage in a lower roof that makes it easier to load things (and yourself) up onto the lid. The Outback then goes further than simply checking the normal boxes. It also has an undeniable rugged look and vibe. The 2023 Subaru Outback checks off all the boxes many people buy an SUV for: ample space, cargo-carrying versatility, standard all-wheel drive and extra ground clearance. It may seem contradictory, but one of the most capable SUVs you can buy is actually a wagon. They are fair, give me clear explanations and warn me about upcoming repairs, considerate, and have on more than one occasion checked a warrantee on my behalf to get me a better price.Pros: More passenger and cargo space than comparably priced SUVs big-time ground clearance low roof with versatile rails fuel efficient Cons: Imprecise steering odd power delivery Wilderness’ on-road handling and fuel economy Finally, I am strongly loyal to the dealership, as they have done right by me in many situations. I'd venture to guess it came off the assembly line like that and it was fairly faint until you noticed it. I cannot claim the stain was there when I got the car, but we tried every safe method (including wet sanding) to remove it and it was under the finish (according to the body shop). Finally, and maybe this was a one-off experience, I had to have the hood repainted because a leaf had left a weird stain right in the center of the hood. al., and too difficult to drive while trying to change your heat, seat temp - basic controls that should not require the driver to look down so much and for so long. ![]() Way overwhelming, hard to find the functions to change driver assist et. The second drawback I would mention is the display screen. No charge to me and no problems since, but definitely an inconvenience. The explanation was this new battery had come from a warehouse and should have been charged before installation. They replaced it (under warrantee), and THE NEXT DAY the new battery was also dead. The dealership went over the car looking for a "battery draw," but found nothing wrong. I also had a dead battery with no apparent reason. After reading the reviews here, I can agree with two issues: battery and display screen. Apparently Outbacks and Legacies have the same body frame, and driving this new Outback is a dream! This is my 4th Subaru and I absolutely, without a qualm, recommend them for handling, snow, comfort, style, cargo capability. Beautiful white exterior, drives like my '13 Legacy (handed down to my daughter, thus the new car for me!). I lucked into finding a returned leased 2020 Outback in July of 2022. ![]()

Many production companies do not accept unsolicited work, meaning if they don’t know you personally or professionally they're unlikely to read your script. Writers are always working on their projects, and once the script is sold, they will need to let go of the material, letting producers and directors take over the reins.
